Blackout problem
There are tonnes of blackout blind solution around, but our client wasn't satisfied with any. Whatever the solution, there was always some light leakage due to poor seals between the blinds and the window.
Our bodies are programmed to sleep when it's dark. Light prevents the secretion of melatonin in our brains, a hormone that naturally promotes sleep, so the darker we can make our rooms, the faster we'll fall asleep, and the better quality that sleep will be!
Innovative engineering
Idea Reality came up with the a one-piece moulding, making the product very economical for mass manufacture. This was achieved by utilising compliant mechanism design - a flexible mechanism that tramits a force and motion through elastic body deformation. After mutliple iterations, the most efficient design was found that combined strength, functionality and ease-of-use.
Blackout solution
Lightseal clamps the sides of your curtains against the wall so no light can leak in from the sides. It is compatible with every style, size and weight of curtain. Made from injection-moulded polypropylene and featuring a patent-pending triple-hinge design, Lightseal has no assembly, maintenance or oily parts. It simply attaches to the wall and firmly clamps curtain edges down so no light can enter the room.
